this issue of numbers, how many times, how many times feels k.s.m. waterboarded. this first came up because of a report in 2004 which was subsequently declassified by the obama administration when they came into office. jose probably is more of an expert in how this was actually done, but it depends on the way you count them. the actual applications, as jose said, lasted just a matter of seconds. impression was left that 83 sessions and -- 183 sessio sessions. again, i don't want to say that what these guys went through was not very aggressive. but it is simply -- i mean, those numbers are way out of bounds and have been misinterpreted in subsequent years to suit the particular commentaries or organizations' polemic perspective. >> one of the startling statistics in looking at there is there are more journalists who had themselves waterboarded to prove it is torture than there are terrorists who have been water boarded. >> almost an equal number of lawyers, too. seriously. in order to offer a judgment they said i want to be able to experience it. >> for the record

there are some issues where you can have unity, on procedural votes. i think people can modify their views for the sake of unity. i agree with what peggy says. when the president said you did not build that, that was correctly jumped on. i think the romney response was mistaken at. the romney response was i did build it. the ones who built it was us. i'm all for celebrating our entrepreneurs, they contribute a lot to the country, but they also have a ton of people who work for them and with them. you have a lot of americans who don't get up and the morning and say i want to be steve jobs or bill gates. they say i want to go to work and do a good job for my employer and i hope to move up in the company and support my family and i hope my kids to better than i will and i contribute to my church and my community, i am a nurse or a soldier or a teacher or cop, or private-sector employees. those people contribute an awful lot to this country too. romney never seemed to appreciate the degree to which you have to speak for and to those people and not just to

host: so an issue that obama is going to be dealing with not just through his e.p.a. guest: absolutely. i think that will be a major role on climate change in the second term. that's partly because if john carrie is confirmed as secretary of state, he brings that as an issue he cares about tremendously. he sees this as a very important legacy issue that he intends to push. but as well, because carbon emissions and global warming are global issue, they are an international issue, it's probably true that we won't see a significant change on this, a significant change on carbon reduction unless it's done with international cooperation. so right now secretary carrie is looking ahead to an expected 2015 u.n. treaty that would be signed by major global warming treaty that would be signed by all of the major polluters. and the hope at least for john carrie and for president obama is that's the time at which the u.s. and china can strike a meaningful deal that will lead to both nation cutting their emissions together. and that's a very hard deal to strike and it's something t
